| Spencer Tunick in Miami! |

I got my confirmation email for the Miami Installation! It's supposed to be a very limited size event, so I didn't think there would be much chance I could get in, but they chose me! Unfortunately, they didn't choose Melissa, so I emailed them - then got a reply back that she was now added as well! :) So it's looking like Saturday she and I are leaving to drive to Miami. It's about a 23 hour drive and we're going to drive it straight through. I'm really excited and will give a full report when I get back. :) |

If you visit www.spencertunick.com you can sign up to be in the installation in Miami on October 6th. It's going to be a very small installation, so they're limiting numbers. I guess you sign up and send in a pic and 1 week before it they'll let you know if you're accepted. Melissa and I have both signed up. Of course, it's a 1300 mile drive, so I'm unsure if I want them to call! lol
Just thought I'd give all of you a heads up about it... |

Rather tahn move to the porn site offered us by them we have opted to set up our own hosted site. We will control what is posted(no porn or spam if we can prevent it) and no censorship by Big Brother of our posts about Spencer's work, or related photos.
Our new site is www.spencertunick.org

| | Cajun music, on WRUW folk program | ] | Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't posted sooner but this is one of those times when things worked out mostly great and a little bad. When you return home you usually say "safe and sound". Safe I was but not so sound, as I am dealing with a rather serious infection in my left foot(hmm, sounds like a movie there somewhere) and a cellulitis in my right leg. Yes, Boys and Girls, running around barefoot as a diabetic is a "No-no". Aw, hell it was worth it!!!!!! :-) ;-) I had a wonderful time and as today I am feeling pretty well I hope to post the account. Lets say this to keep your interest. Two of the most surreal moments of my life occurred in Lyon. The second most surreal occurred first when Spencer "French kissed" me, and the most surreal was at the end. There that you keep you in suspense till I post. |

"Dear Participants:
It's here! Hope you are ready for a great morning. Please keep this information as confidential as possible. Participants only!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "What time should you be there? You should arrive at 4:30 am. Rain or shine! We encourage you to carpool. If you are walking leave yourself enough time to get to the location, with time to spare. Please be on time in order to insure your inclusion in this art event. The art event will be finished by approximately 10:30 am."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"More Important information : For the third location, Spencer will be working on a new body of work. For this he asks you to make your best effort to bring food and drink to the installation with you. (bread, cheese, large fruit....food for a picnic) Also bring a blanket or sheet to sit on. Kindly bring a bag to keep garbage with you afterwards.
Thank you for wanting to be a part of Spencer's art! He couldn't make his work without you, and he is extremely grateful for your participation.
See you on Sept. 11th!"

If someone said they were going to do a large-scale installation such as Spencer's shoots, but it wasn't Spencer doing it, would you have a problem showing up and posing? Or would you consider it not right and refrain from going?
I wonder what it would actually take to organize a large-scale installation like his in each state's most populated city? Sure, it may not be as original because it would be stealing Spencer's original idea, but his are so rare that I'm sure many people would go out of their way to try to make it whether it were him or not...
What are your opinions? |
